KEY FOCUS AREAS

SUPPY CHAIN AND MARKETING

The Supply Chain and Marketing objective drives the development of a road to market process for all industrial-based hemp products. Their key focus areas include:

  • Helping the PDA to develop packaging and regulatory guidelines for CBD products at a retail level

  • Developing an actual supply chain for Fiber hemp

  • Providing insight on the do's and dont's from seed to retail in the CBD space

POLICY & REGULATION

The Policy & Regulation objective encompasses the need to follow, review, and analyze state and federal policy updates affecting the hemp industry. Their key focus areas include:

  • Introducing and passing legislation to authorize and regulate CBD as a food ingredient or supplement

  • Developing and implementing strategies to overcome barriers within the current legal and regulatory framework 

  • Bridging the gap between government and industry

  • Educating both policy-makers and implementers and the industry on the state and federal compliance

FARMER & PROCESSOR EDUCATION AND OUTREACH

The Farmer & Processor Education and Outreach objective builds a more cohesive network of farmers and processors in PA’s hemp industry. Their key focus areas include:

  • Obtaining Farmer and Processor Feedback: regulatory, farming, economic, etc.

  • Facilitating better lines of communication within the PA Hemp economy

  • Researching initiatives in other states that are intended to create more robust networks of farmers and processors in the hemp community

RESEARCH, OPPORTUNITY, AND NEEDS

The Research, Opportunity, and Needs objective inspires us to look for new relevant technologies & opportunities, follow research literature, and facilitate research within the State. Their key focus areas include:

  •  Acting as a conduit for the voice of the constituents and ensuring representation from all facets e.g., consumers, farming, labs, processing, and distribution

  •  Bringing forth both national and international insight and applicable current events

  •  Setting a flexible 3 Year Plan w/6 months targets to ensure the Committee has a strategic vision and longevity
